The Villalobos Family

Cynthia was 23 and preparing for her doctoral program in public health when she suffered from a stroke. At the time, doctors projected that her survival rate was just 1%. Cynthia's sister, Evelyn, and their mom spent all day everyday in the hospital for over a year to be by their loved one’s side.

While Cynthia received treatment at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, her family was connected to JW House where they were offered housing and meals when they “needed support more than ever.” Her family says that they will never forget the “love and care” they felt at JW House.

“Doctors, science, and logic would all tell you that there is no way my sister could be here today, doing the things she’s doing, but she’s quite literally a miracle (Who is now beginning to stand on her own!).” Evelyn shares.
